WBN and Partners Launch the Project Geopolis: Security and Education

The project Geopolis: Security and Education is a two-semester series of lectures organized by the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, WBN (WestBalkanNet: Regional Forum for Democracy, Reconciliation and Strategic Analyses), and the Montenegrin PEN Center. The aim of this project is to provide professional lectures from Montenegrin and international experts on topics related to security and education in the contemporary geopolitical environment.

Through a series of lectures, the project will focus on current challenges, especially on the phenomenon of “malignant” and “hybrid” activities, as well as on various instruments of soft power. This approach enables a deeper understanding of how different geopolitical actors use soft power and hybrid tactics to achieve their goals, which has direct consequences for the security and education system in Montenegro and beyond.

The lectures within the Geopolis project will offer participants the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the dynamics of regional and international security, methods of protecting democratic values, as well as the role of education in strengthening social resistance to destabilizing influences.

Additionally, the project aims to strengthen the network of individuals and organizations engaged in the fields of security, education, and international relations.
