A new lecture will be held as part of the two-semester project Geopolis – Security and Education, implemented by the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature, the Cultural Center of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, WBN – Regional Forum for Democracy, Reconciliation and Strategic Analyses, and the Montenegrin PEN Center.
The guest lecturer will be Emir Pilav, MSc, political scientist and civic activist, who will speak on the topic “The European Right and Montenegrin Reality” on Wednesday, May 28, starting at 12:00 PM, in the Grand Hall of the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature.
The lecturer will discuss the origins and influence of the European right on the political scene and social developments in Montenegro. Special emphasis will be placed on the rise in popularity of right-wing ideas in Europe and how these trends are reflected in Montenegrin reality — through political rhetoric, right-wing movements, and attitudes toward issues of identity, migration, and European integration. The goal of the lecture is to examine the extent to which Montenegrin society follows the patterns of the European right and what consequences this may have on democracy and social cohesion.
The lecture will be held under Chatham House rules, which enables an open dialogue and exchange of opinions while respecting the privacy of all participants.
