The Executive Director of WBN, Dr. Boban Batrićević, and WBN representative Jovan Ulićević visited the German Bundestag as the participants in the 28th International Berlin Gathering and the Initiative for Peace.
Batrićević informed German and European parliamentarians about the situation in Montenegro during several sessions. The discussions mainly focused on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the impact of this conflict on the situation in the Balkans and Montenegro. Batrićević spoke about the malignant Russian influence in Montenegrin society, particularly in the media, security sector, educational and cultural policies, as well as in certain religious institutions that Putin’s regime uses as tools in our country.
International gatherings in Berlin have been held since 1996, initiated by several German parliamentarians at the time. They involve representatives from political parties and governments, economists, businesspeople, and social activists from all over the world.
Meeting with the ambassador of Rwanda in Germany on the sidelines of the gathering
Batrićević and Ulićević met with the Ambassador of Rwanda in Germany, H.E. Igor Cesar, on the sidelines of the gathering.

In a brief and cordial conversation, the WBN members thanked Ambassador Cesar for the fact that Rwanda, alongside Germany, initiated and co-financed the Resolution on the Srebrenica Genocide at the United Nations. This act is regarded by WBN as highly significant for the reconciliation policy of the Western Balkans region and as an important step in the process of facing the past.
